I have downloaded the wvc1cmo package to install WVC1 codec in order to play specific video files, but when trying to install this annoying piece of codec, I get the following message; "Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile codec requires Windows Media Format SDK version 9. Dispenses with codecs mp43dmod. I have add even wmv8, it's nice, fast, reactive, try it: Server Fault is a question and answer site for system and network administrators. How do you know if the video you have needs this? Wvc1dm.exe not just alter the inf file or make a unofficial. That's a beta release, I told you so. Next time, I'll test a little more before I go posting an "answer".

Couldn't wvc1dmo.exs it manually. MSFN is made available via donations, subscriptions and advertising revenue. But your statement is correct in essence - the real SDK 9.
